Translating Basic Discoveries Into Novel Therapies
Gateway Biotechnology was founded in 2011 by Drs. Jianxin Bao, Rick Chole, and Philip Perez while working at Washington University in St. Louis. The team had spent much of their academic careers developing animal models to understand hearing disorders including tinnitus and formed Gateway to translate their discoveries into effective therapies.
What We Do
Gateway has developed a novel animal screening model for tinnitus to monitor the effectiveness of over a dozen drug candidates. From these screens, we have identified two of the most promising candidates to move forward in clinical studies, GW-TT2 and GW-TT5, and have tested the effectiveness of over a dozen drug candidates or drug combinations in treating tinnitus.
